10 Years of Fiction: The KBP Origin Story
Share
In 2014, we didn’t have a press, a catalog, or even a plan.
What we did have was a living room full of notebooks, kids with wild imaginations, and one persistent father who couldn’t stop writing.
That’s how KeiterBennett Publishers began.
What started as an experiment—writing books as a family—soon became something much bigger. We didn’t want to chase trends. We didn’t want to mimic what was already on shelves. We wanted to tell the stories we *wished* existed: thrilling, character-driven fiction created by a family, for other families, readers, and dreamers.
Over the last 10 years, we’ve written:
- A mystery novel that is set in Hartford, CT
- A chapter book series co-written with the youngest member of the family that features the Kloo Triplets
- Created several middle grade ideas that will finally be published in the next year
- And taken a bold new leap into YA thrillers
Everything we publish is 100% in-house. No outside authors. No corporate committees. Just ideas passed between siblings, outlines sketched over breakfast, and edits debated like movie pitches. It's messy. It's magical. It's ours.
As we celebrate this 10-year milestone, we’re doubling down on what made us start in the first place: the freedom to imagine boldly and write fearlessly.
Thanks for being part of our story. The next chapter is just beginning.
